With highly expected, the first online communication between the 11th Student Ambassador and Nanyang Girls’ High School (NYGH) was held on September 15th. When introducing the history of their school, a Singaporean student mentioned that the founder, Mr. Sun Yat-sen, believes in equality of men and women and that women also have the right to receive education. As a result, Nanyang Girls’ High School was established in 1917. In addition, Taipei First Girls’ High School and Nanyang Girls’ High School both have a long history, and students own a wide range of extracurricular activities to choose from as well. During the exchange events, the two sides shared each other’s national culture and campus life, and successfully survived the impact of the epidemic to continue the friendship.

        After listening to the school’s features introduced by students from Nanyang Girls’ High School, it was time for group interaction. The themes of sharing are diverse, covering national festivals, food culture, pop culture, famous landmarks and school life. Every meeting room was filled with lively discussions and laughter. Students in Nanyang Girls’ High School also speak fluent Chinese except talking in English in class. Therefore, the whole event was in Chinese, which made it easier to understand each other’s thoughts and narrow the distance among us. Ambassadors participating in the activities conveyed that they had felt full of warmth, passion, and optimism.

        Pleasant times flew, and all the attendees still felt reluctant to say goodbye. At the same time, we exchanged contact information with each other, and took a group picture as a perfect ending to this online event. Although there was only an hour short, it is undoubtedly impressive and unforgettable for the 11th Student Ambassador. Taking part in various exchange activities is like opening windows of knowledge, allowing us to broaden our horizons, cultivate an international outlook, and achieve a long-term goal of connecting with the world.

        After the meeting, the 11th Student Ambassador has met many good friends from Singapore. The second online meeting with Nanyang Girls’ High School will be held on October 27, when apart from the ambassadors, other students are welcomed to join.
