【Topic】Hwa Chong Institution Exchange Program 【Date】2026.06.03 9:00~14:00 【Location】Zhishan 2F Conference Room, TFG Campus, School History Room 【News report】 The exchange program with Hwa Chong Institution was held on June 3rd. With students and teachers of math and science gifted classes visiting TFG this time. We expected that everyone could gain insight into both cultures and learn from each other. After students from HCI arrived, the event began with the host inviting Principal Chen Chih-Yuan and Mr. Lee Gah Hung, the chemistry teacher from Hwa Chong Institution, to say a few words. Principal Chen first expressed our gratitude to HCI for holding exchange programs with TFG for many years. What’s more, he also conveyed how the Taipei International Youth Science Forum was affected by HCI. Mr. Lee Gah Hung mentioned how valuable the bond between the two schools is and how precious the opportunity is to visit Taipei First Girls’ High School. In recent years, both schools have been committed to advancing science education, such as launching math and science gifted classes and classes of science, expecting that both schools could have further interaction in this field. Lastly, Principal Chen wished everyone a relaxing and fun time during today’s exchange program. Then, the two schools exchanged gifts. While TFG prepared the coffee of the Taiwanese brand Lousia Coffee with the bear doll wearing our uniform and a graduation cap, HCI gave us Singapore’s coffee. Following the opening ceremony is the introduction of Taiwan and TFG by the presentation department of the Student Ambassador. By introducing various aspects of Taiwan and TFG, like the traditional festivals of Taiwan, and the special tradition in TFG, with some interesting Q&A sections, we wish that students and teachers from Hwa Chong Institution have learned more about us. Students from HCI introduced Singapore’s culture and campus life in HCI in detail. The joy filled the air. After the introduction of both schools, the most exciting section is the in-class experience. Students from HCI joined the classes of TFG students, for example, Chinese, English, and PE. Believed that after attending our classes in person, HCI students can have a better understanding of our daily life at school. During lunchtime, students from HCI shared with the student ambassadors their observations of our classes and the inspiration of Taiwanese culture. This time, we also invited some TFG teachers to join the lunchtime. The air is filled with joy. The next section is the school uniform reissue campaign held by three 11th graders of the humanities and social science track in the school history room. They reissued the uniform of TFG during the Japanese colonial period, making the uniform appear again. After the campaign, HCI students also take a quick tour of the school history room. Today’s exchange program came to an end with this unique event. Before leaving the school, everyone took a group photo in front of the Guan-Fu Building. Marking the wonderful ending of today’s event. The exchange program with Hwa Chong Institution concluded successfully. Today’s meeting marks the exchange and fusion of cultures, knowledge, and values between Taiwan and Singapore. Wish that every participant can keep their passion and keep learning from each other. |
